Event Information

As the Firehawk Association of America enters its fourth year. I would thank everyone that has help make the Association a success. Without the members support we would not be as successful as we are. It's members like ours that make our Association so great.

Of course this year we have the newly design 1998 Firehawk. If you have not seen the 1998 Firehawk I would suggest that you do so. It is one great looking automobile. We are also planning our 4th. annual Firehawk Association Rally at the Norwalk International Raceway Park in Norwalk, Ohio on August 8th. & 9th. 1998

We want to make this year's rally the best one ever. Jim Mattison of SLP Engineering has some great idea's concerning the upcoming Rally. We need a few members who are willing to take the task of helping. We need help in the following area's

  • Firehawk Elimination's Tech & Registration.

  • Ballot counting for the Firehawk car show.

It's not early to make your reservations. The biggest problem the membership has is the cost of the motel rooms. They are high in price but is due to the fact that Cedar Point Amusement Part is nearby. Most of our members also would like to be in the same motel. I have a motel that will give us a room block with a discount. The EconoLodge located at 342 Milan Road, Norwalk, Ohio 44857 419-668-5656. I stayed at this motel last year. I found it to be very decent for the price.

  • Rooms must be paid for by July 1st. 1998 via Credit Card or Money order.

  • Mention Wayne E. Thomas or the Firehawk Association to get a 10% discount.

  • Minimum stay is 2 nights which would be August the 7th. & 8th. 1998.

  • The regular rate for a room with 2 beds with 2 adults is $98.00 minus the 10% a night plus tax. Each additional person in the room over 13 there is an extra $5.00 per person charge under 13 is free.

  • It is an 8-minute drive to the Raceway.

  • There is swimming pool.

  • Several fast restaurants nearby.

  • Please request smoking or non-smoking they will try to assist your needs.

  • It is not uncommon to pay as much as $150.00 to $200.00 a night
    this time of year.

We will have more details about the upcoming rally in the next issue of our newsletter.
